Ex-Ought members Tim Darcy and Ben Stidworthy team up with US Girls/Weather Station drummer Evan Cartwright for new project Cola and release their new track 'Water Table'. Following on from the driving groove the first single 'Blank Curtain', new track 'Water Table' is a more paired back affair, a repetitive pulsing drum beat is anchored by sparse bass chords and dragged guitar melodies based on a "harp sample played on a keyboard". Lyrically the song is deeper and more emotive than the previous single, as Ben mentions, "felt like the record needed the emotional note of a song like “Water Table” and the track flowed out of me. Tim sent it back to me with lyrics the next day so I knew it was gonna work." Cola's debut album album Deeper In View is due May 20th on Firetalk Records and with these two strong singles out it is shaping up nicely to fill the Ought shaped hole in your life. -Toby Evans-Jesra
